Martha Fields is an award winning singer, songwriter whose first memory is singing harmony while sitting on her mother's lap in the hills of Appalachia. Her Red Dirt side, come from her father's lineage.  Born with  country music in her blood, she comes from a long line of singers, musicians and luthiers from the hills of Eastern Kentucky and West Virginia. Martha pours out her soul in every song and transports her audience on an authentic southern  musical journey.  She is the real deal!

"Everything we love" (ROLLING STONE, Jan. 2017)

Southern White Lies ( #2 CD for 2016 EuroAmericana Charts) finds Fields looking into another aspect of her heritage, her mother’s lineage that goes back to the first white settlers in Kentucky and West Virginia. As reflected in the album’s artwork, the young Fields spent much of her formative years listening to music being played on the family porch back in Wayne County, WV. Southern White Lies pays tribute to the Appalachian music of her childhood with Fields and the band unplugged; dobro, fiddle and banjo replacing pedal steel and Telecaster twang. While they might have swapped the honky tonks for a front porch feel there's no let-up in the energy unleashed, Fields' powerful voice commands a set that features strong soloing over tight and intricate crackerjack dobro, fiddle, banjo, guitar, resonator, mandolin and double bass.

Southern While Lies is a  critically acclaimed, gutsy Americana exposition, a state of the nation address from the underclass that incorporates country blues, gospel, folk, and bluegrass delivered with conviction. Recorded with Fields' regular band (Manu Bertrand, dobro, banjo, mandolin, guitar; Urbain Lambert, guitar; Olivier Leclerc, violin; Serge Samyn, bass fiddle and Denis Bielsa drums) before harmonies from Travis Fite and Monica Taylor (the Cimarron Songbird) were added in Tulsa then mixed and mastered by the renowned musician, producer and engineer, Tommy Detamore, in Floresville, Texas.

Martha’s last CD, Long Way From Home, was recorded under the name Texas Martha and The House of Twang (2015), which revisited her red dirt roots with an album of pedal steel and twangy guitar soaked honky tonkin’- country rock. The success of the CD, has led to Fields and her band of expert pickers becoming firm favorites on the European festival circuit from France to Lithuania.
European Festivals: (just a few) Southern Fried, Perth, Scotland; Country 2 Country CMA, London; Zurich Country Festival, Visiginas, Lithuanian Country Festival, European World of Bluegrass, The Netherlands, Country Rendezvous, Craponne, France, Mirande Country, France.
